Gnome: hide scrolling startup text / better disk encryption prompt

Hi there,

Background: family computer

Has anyone managed to declaratively hide the start up scrolling text? (Would like to be able to see it on a key press if needed, or only errors)

Then, full disk encryption is in place, and the password prompt is prior to the gnome login. I’ve seen other distros where they brand/present a gui based password entry.

Once I even get a clue of which components I should be looking at, then I can do more research to figure out the configuration on my own.

Thank you very much.

It was driving me nuts! I could not remember what it was called. Appreciate it!
